A single-sided NMR
tomograph in pocket format was developed combining the magnetic
field provided by a single permanent block magnet with a
dedicated gradient coil system. The magnitude of the magnetic
field close the 5 cm x 5 cm pole face of the magnet results
quite constant in planes of about 1 cm² parallel to the magnet
surface. In this way, depth selection into the sample is
achieved by retuning the frequency, while lateral resolution is
achieved implementing a pure phase encoding imaging method. This
new sensor is used to produce 2D projections with a lateral
spatial resolution of about 100 µm in depth up to 3 mm. |
